Suttons Bay’s Kelly earns first team all-state in Division IV

Suttons Bay junior Nate Kelly was named to the Division IV first team all-state golf team for the second straight season. He was joined on the team by David Troph, who was recognized with an honorable mention spot. Congrats to both and the entire Suttons Bay golf team.

Lakers, Comets win golf matches

Glen Lake’s four scores were five shots apart in a 178-186 win over Manton. Willy Hurlin led the way for the Lakers with a 42. Ryan Novak added a 43, Tim Zywicki a 46 and Jason Popa a 47.

Derek Telgard had a 43 and Matt Lichty a 46 as Leland topped Leelanau School, 196-216. Pat Seavitt led Leelanau with a 48.

Norse finish 13th at TC Tee-Off Invitational

Suttons Bay finished 13th at the TC Tee-Off Invitational. It was the best finish by a local team. Here’s a blurb from the Record Eagle about the Norse and the tourney.

Suttons Bay was the top local team, taking 13th with a 648. At Highpointe, the Norse got an 81 from Nate Kelly (154 total), an 86 from David Tropf (164), a 90 from Charlie Olson (170) and a 93 from Chris Beuerle (179).
