Just what I love to see (actually hear) out of my Tigers (I know, I know it was only Kansas City)…
- Solid Pitching - Kenny Rogers, Joel Zumaya, and Fernando Rodney combined to hold the Royals to 4 hits, Rogers picked up the win and Rodney the save. I was so excited listening when Zumaya got the call, Leyland isn’t afraid to use the youngsters and it will only make them better.
- Chris Shelton - Is the MAN! He is going to show everyone how smart the Tigers were in grabbing him. He is so poised at the plate and just knows how to hit.
- 0 Errors - The Tigers made the plays on defense and played an all-around solid game.
Sure there were some negatives like Curtis Granderson, Dmitri Young and Magglio Ordonez combining to go 0 for 13 with 5 k’s. Some of that can be attributed to the Royals pitching, which wasn’t all that bad. It is a good start to 2006.
