Opinions on five current Detroit & national sports topics from yours truly…
1. Pistons clinch Home Court in East - Might as well use the ink pen and write in Pistons vs. Spurs in the NBA Finals!
2. Opening Day - Reading the Detroit sports blogs and papers you get a sense of excitement for this upcoming Tiger season. I am guilty also of the same excitement. This team is going to contend and be fun to watch. My official prediction is above. Go Tigers!
3. Final Four - Disappointing on Saturday, but one last chance tonight to give us the game we want to see. UCLA looked very good on the defensive end of the floor, but Florida has some very good balance. My pick: UCLA.
4. Red Wings - Continue to roll, and if this is the end for Stevie Y, he is going out playing some good hockey.
5. Cable/Satellite TV - I am officially down to free TV (well 1 1/2 channels anyway) so will be using the internet and radio for my primary sports information. Just got sick of paying the outrageous prices for only a couple of channels I watched anyway.

Well sports pig, you are braver than I… there is still no way I can get rid of the cable TV. The kids need the Nick and dad needs his FSN, ESPN, History, Discovery, Golf, and well, yeah, the Nick too! Too scary to imagine a world without them!
