Consider the comers in the AL Central - the defending-champion White Sox, the up-and-coming Indians, the perennially solid Twins and the underrated Tigers. That’s four teams that, given health and good fortune, could contend for a playoff spot. Given the unbalanced schedule, you should perhaps pity the Royals more than usual. Whoever emerges from this scrum will be bloodied and battle-tested.
