Millen update, head coach rumors

author Posted by: Leelanau Sports Guy on date Dec 21st, 2005 | filed Filed under: Detroit Lions

Here’s the latest on the mess that is the Detroit Lions. Tom Kowalski talks about how the next coach will have to be able to deal with Millen, and the type of coach the Lions need. A name I keep hearing is New Orleans Saints coach Jim Haslett. He would be a good fit, he’s tough, and won’t take any crap from anyone. If he’s available will be the big question. I just hope that Millen, if he’s around, gets it right this time and interviews a few candidates, not just the guy he wants.

You almost hope that, with Millen, the good old cliche’ of “third time is a charm” works to its fullest. Look, I know a lot of people have had issues with Millen, but quite frankly I would like to see the guy get another chance and it is quite obvious I am sure he will. But yes he needs to do more research than just hire that “impulse” guy.

As far as Millen is concerned his drafting has been better and his signings have been better, now he just has to show his hiring of coaches needs to be better.

Hey, have a nice holiday bro! Later.
