The highest-scoring NBA game of All-Time
Farlane at Absolute Michigan pointed me towards this article that remembers the 1983 battle triple overtime battle with the Detroit Pistons defeating the Denver Nuggets 186-184 in triple overtime.
Wow, those were some high-scoring games in the early 80’s. It’s quite a contrast to today’s NBA, where players are bigger, faster and actually play some defense. Isiah Thomas and Kelly Tripucka were the leaders of that Pistons team, and along with Bill Laimbeer, John Long and Vinnie Johnson, could score with the best of them.
