Most of the time, that is true, but this weekend it was great. Why you ask? Because I didn’t have to watch much of the weekend that was Detroit sports. I didn’t have to watch the Spartans lose another game. I didn’t have to sit while the Lions offense stumbled down the field and penalty flags were flying all over. I didn’t have to watch Michigan fall in the final seconds to the hated Buckeyes, or MSU hoops fall to Hawaii. The Red Wings & Pistons also couldn’t escape the bad vibe that was Michigan sports.

At least for some of them there is hope…

Michigan - Will be going to a good bowl and still get a big payday. Sure they hate not winning the Big Ten and losing to Ohio State, but the Wolverines are still a young team. They will use this season as a stepping stone for next year.

Pistons - The 82 game season schedule makes it impossible to play at a high level every night. Games like that will happen. Nothing to worry about, move along.

Red Wings - See above. Although they make me more nervous than the Pistons, because they have been in a funk for a few games.

Michigan State Hoops - Izzo will let them have it, but I don’t think it’s anything long term to worry about. The four stars were all bothered by cramps and should rebound with a nice showing against Chaminade.

And no hope…

Michigan State Football - 1-6 after there 4-0 start is a horrible way to end your third season if you are John L. Smith. If he survives he had better deliever 9 wins or it will be the end.

Lions - Where do you even begin. This team finds new ways to lose every week. This week it was penalties, on Thanksgiving, my guess is…Fumbles.
