Isom named Beach Bums manager

Jeff Isom has been named the first manager of the Traverse City Beach Bums. He brings a career record of 262-226 in parts of six seasons as a manager. Isom spent the last two seasons with the Joliet Jackhammers of the Northern League. Prior to that he spent two seasons managing in the Frontier League with the Washington Wild Things.
Isom played college baseball at Purdue and was a 13th round pick in 1993 by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He pitched for six seasons in the Pirates and Padres organizations.
