Verizon beefs up downtown service for All-Star Game
Great Lakes IT Report article by Matt Roush
Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game and FanFest just days away, Verizon Wireless said Wednesday it had fine-tuned its network to handle the additional call volume expected during the five days of festivities. The company recently installed temporary equipment on several existing cell sites throughout downtown Detroit that boosts calling capacity by 30 percent. The improvements mean fewer dropped calls and clearer reception. Additionally, throughout the five-day period, Verizon Wireless will dispatch its real-life, local test man, Rick Thompson, who will drive around downtown Detroit testing the company’s network to ensure reliability. Ahh…
The time is almost here, we are only about a month away from weekly rips on Joey Harrington. I can hardly wait, how about you?
Man, from the little I have seen of Maggs I can see why we spent some cash on him. The funny thing is, he is not even in game shape yet. If they can get to .500 or a couple games under I really see them making a good run in the second half. Everyone together, everyone healthy - maybe a little wishful thinking, but it is still worth it!
Hey, thanks for the nice words on my letter to Mr. Holland. And, in the words of Verizon - “Can you hear me now?”.
Damn, I am ready for some football!
Later.
