Spartan women advance to Championship Game

I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was over. Down by 16 points in the second half to Tennessee the Spartans came back with a thrilling 68-64 win to advance to the title game versus Baylor. Baylor came back from a 15 point first half deficit over LSU to advance, so both underdogs knocked off the favorites. Leelanau County star Liz Shimek played very well and all of Northern Michigan is cheering her and the Spartans on. Here’s the top stories…
