I am also a believer in the Lions ability to win and win now. The offseason again was impressive, and we all know that my favorite pick up was Garcia. Yes, he may be a shell of his former San Fran self, but even a 75% Garcia is better than a 110% Joey. My belief is Joey will be benched by the fourth game, but that is just me.

Johnson needs to be better, that is for sure. I would love to at least see a .500 season out of him, but that may be even asking too much. As far as Ledezma is concerned, to me that is why I hope they figure out a way to keep Knotts. My impression of Ledezma is that he is more apt to fill the role of long reliever, not starter. Maybe he just needs more time, but how much more time can the Tigers give some of these guys? We all know they have the chance to win now, they need to win now, and I am hopeful they figure out a way to keep Knotts there as a back up to fill in if one of these guys, if not both, just don't get it done.

Duke and MSU? Well, I can not stand the green, but the Blue Devils make me sick even more. Would love to see the Spartans pull it off and hope they do. Man, I can not believe I typed that!

I too think Silas got a bad shake, but I think with the new ownership it was all but a done deal. Dan Gilbert wants to get his guy in there, whoever that may be, as is the case with all owners. I think Silas would have been gone at seasons end, no matter what. It is the same story always in sports, new owner wants his guy, etc. and so on. He will bounce back I am sure, he is a quality coach and there are plenty of openings for next season, with more to come I am sure.
