I am not too sure if the EA/NFL deal will be as bad as some people are making it out to be. For what it is worth, I have been a big Madden slappy since the early PS1 days and have not even purchased anything outside the EA Sports family as far as sports games are concerned. I tried some of the others, the ESPN games for example, but did not enjoy the graphics or the game play. To me, this years Madden has been outstanding. I am a geek, so I will tell you my almost all U of M team is in it's third season, having gone 16-0 each year with multiple super bowl victories. And, for the record, I don't cheat - the team I have constructed is just that good! Plus, the player ain't too shabby either! Alright, I am a geek - back to the point.

The market already dictated that Madden was the best, so what is going to change? I can not see them suddenly slacking off and making crappy games, that would be the only down fall to the deal. But, like I said, I don't see it happening. We all will survive, I will continue to make my all Wolverine teams and Madden will continue to be the best football game out there. Except this time because there are no other choices.

Besides, don't you think that this gives some small company five years to develop a game that will blow Madden away when the contract is up? The thought of that alone is a light at the end of the tunnel if you ask me? I have seen peaks of the next Madden, and with PS3 on the horizon, five years from now, five years to develop - DAMN that would be a great game!!!!

Later - the sports dude.

I tell yah, NFL Fever for Xbox was a lot better game than Madden is. For starters, you don't have the stupid Madden physics that guaranty a catch one in four throws. Now they're going to end the ESPN/Sega NFL franchise that $19.95 compared to $49.95. Its a monopoly and its bad for games. This outraged me.
