After free-agent snubs, Tigers will look to ‘improve from within’ - MLive article by Ansar Khan
My view: The Tigers will once again improve this upcoming season, even without landing a so-called marquee free agent. I think they have a good talent base and Toledo is starting to have some solid prospects as well. Dombrowski will get it done before he’s finished here, and if they do land Ordonez, the Tigers could be the team to beat in the A.L. Central.

The farm system is something Dombrowski isn’t getting much recognition for. He’s doing a terrific job rebuilding it. I agree with you, they do have a nice thing going in Toledo. They also have some nice things starting to happen in Erie as well, and the West Mich Whitecaps are on a roll.
The future should be good for the Tigers. That is, pending we can keep Dombrowski in Detroit, and they continue to have support of Mike Illitch.
