It was a busy weekend in sports, but that’s what we all love, isn’t it? The NFC and AFC Championships were decided and both were what alot of people expected. New England vs. Philadelphia is what the experts said preseason and we get to see it for real now. My early pick is Philadelphia, but not sure if that will be my final pick. It’s hard to pick against Bill Belichick.
The Pistons continue to struggle, and it’s painful to watch right now. I caught a little of the Pistons/Bulls game on Saturday and what I watched wasn’t pretty. Sloppy defense, bad shots and uncharacteristic turnovers led to another loss to the improving Bulls.
On the college scene, MSU pulled out a win against Minnesota and Wisconsin proved to much for Michigan. Both of these teams have along way to go to make any kind of noise come NCAA tourney time. Michigan will have to pick it up just to make it.

I had a very hard time reading McCoskey’s article. He gave Ronald Dupree a B, and Ben Wallace a C+. I didn’t agree with most of his grades. He seems too caught up in the losses and doesn’t seem to have anything positive to say, which is ridiculous. If you give Ben an A last year, you’d have to give him an A this year. His game hasn’t changed, and it hasn’t diminished. His free throws are bad, yes, but we know that already. Dupree really should have a C- or D. He has a lot more potential than he’s shown this year, and its time he gets his act together.

Two good points. I agree with you on the Wallace issue. He is playing solid. I think it’s hard for this team with their mindsets to get super geeked about the regular season after the season they had last year. I won’t say they aren’t going all out, but they might be pacing themselves a bit to be healthy and in good shape for a playoff run. Even if they were the eight seed, I would consider them the favorite. They can win anywhere and I think they will be ready when it counts - playoff time!

I don’t even need to read the article to comment on this. I usually like McCoskey, but he is giving Wallace a C, then turning around and giving Dupree a better grade, he needs to give himself an F for lousy journalism! Isn’t the dude suppose to be the Pistons Insider? What kind of work is that? As far as I am concerned, Ben Wallace gets an A, hands down, no matter what! Look how Big Ben reacted this weekend when he was asked about Larry Browns comments about the lack of effort. He said he was tired of hearing that BS and stormed out of the press conference. Do you really think that dude doesn’t bring it every night? Of all the people on that team I would NEVER question Ben. Not just because he would kick my butt, but because you know he brings it night in and night out. Done.
As far as the season, I think this may be what it is all year long. But, come the post season, I still take the Pistons in a seven game series over any team in the East. Enough said - done.
And, not to be a jerk, but your header says “Pats .vs. Steelers” in the Super Bowl. Just an observation, sorry to correct you, I am not trying to show you up or be a jerk. Just wanted to let you know.
Later - the sports dude!

This is what I tell everyone, “Have you read what ‘The Sports Dude’ writes? He’s a jerk!”
Thanks for catching that, my fact-checker went home early today, ha-ha!
I agree with you about the Pistons. In a seven game series I like them over anyone in the East. Home court or not.
