4:29 PM - A nice article by Detroit News writer Chris McCoskey about the trade. Read the article.
12:44 PM - It’s official, here’s the Free Press article - Pistons acquire Arroyo.
10:55 AM - Just got another call from my Detroit Insider…
“Breaking news: Pending NBA Approval, trade for Arroyo and Elden Campbell and a #1 will go through. Utah will probably release Campbell and once he clears waivers, he could end up back with the Pistons. Kinda like the Lindsey Hunter to Boston deal last year.”
9:30 AM - My Detroit Insider just contacted me and told me this…
“Just a rumor right now, but I heard Elden Campbell and a #1 pick to Utah for Carlos Arroyo.”
Good trade in my book if it happens. And it might even free up a few more minutes for Darko.

Going to be posting about this later on today myself, just short on time right now. To me, it would make sense except for one word - Shaq! The Pistons still need to go thru Miami to get to the Finals, and Elden played a big part against the Lakers last year. If there were no Shaq factor it would not be a big deal, moving Elden for a much needed back up guard would make perfect sense. But Elden’s 15-20 minutes, but more importantly six fouls a game, would be sorely missed in a seven game series against Shaq, I mean the Heat. Otherwise, I say go for it! Unless Dumars has another Big Man in his back pocket somewhere ( bring back Coleman?) then maybe it might make sense to think twice.

That is a very good point Sports Dude. I think Campbell is very valuable to have and if they could pick him back up on waivers, that would be pretty cool. But maybe like you said Dumars has something else up his sleeve. Or heaven forbid Darko is going to get more minutes…

YAY!!! I was talking to my friend, who I’ve decided is a prophet, a couple weeks ago. He said “Hey, the Pistons should look at Arroyo.” Ahh, low and behold, here he is. I consider the Guard position the most in need of help. With Delfino out, Arroyo can come in and add that other Guard element that James did last year. When Delfino comes back, he can add more depth, and help backup the SF position as well. It will be interesting to see if there are any more moves, and how the impact of Arroyo plays out.
It’ll also be nice if Campbell makes it thru waivers and comes back home to the D.
