Lions to put Charles Rogers on injured reserve

Wide Receiver Charles Rogers, who broke his collarbone in practice on Oct. 7, will go on injured reserve this week, ending his year. “It’s disappointing, but I knew it was going to be tough to get back,” he said. “It’s taking longer to heal than we expected, and even when it does, I haven’t been able to keep the strength and muscle mass that I need to play in this league.” In five games before the injury, Rogers caught 22 passes for 243 yards. Even after sitting out nearly two months, he still leads the team in touchdowns with three. Rogers will be the 11th Lions player to go on injured reserve this season, one of the highest totals in the league.
