Tigers sign outfielder White
According to several reports, the Tigers agreed to terms with free agent outfielder Rondell White on a two-year, $6 million contract early Sunday morning. The Tigers focused on White after veteran outfielder Reggie Sanders reportedly turned down a similar offer. After beginning spring training with the New York Yankees in 2003, the 31-year-old White was traded to San Diego before the start of the season. He batted .278 with 18 home runs and 66 RBI in 115 games with the Padres and earned the first All-Star appearance of his 11-year career.
